Al-Mamoun University Signs Cooperation Agreements in Italy

In response to the requirements of our esteemed Ministry and within the framework of cooperation with European universities to open up to global academic institutions for the purpose of internationalizing higher education in Iraq, and in light of the guidance of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, who encourages the signing of memoranda of understanding and joint agreements with reputable global universities, our university has signed cooperation agreements with the University of Naples L'Orientale in Italy. These agreements aim to establish mechanisms for mutual collaboration in various scientific fields, including: (launching postgraduate studies for scientific departments, organizing conferences, workshops, and scientific seminars, joint supervision, and student exchange). These objectives are outlined in the memorandum signed between the University of Naples L'Orientale and Al-Mamoun University.

The memorandum of cooperation is part of a series of continuous meetings aimed at elevating the academic level of the college, transferring expertise in academic fields, collaborating on developing educational plans and programs, and publishing joint scientific research between faculty members of both universities in global databases (Scopus and Clarivate).

Our university's delegation was represented by Dr. Salah Al-Shammari, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and sponsor of this scientific event, along with Assistant Professor Abbas Fadhil Al-Sudani, Director of the College's Administration. The delegation was hosted by Professor Dr. Roberto Tottoli, President of the University of Naples L'Orientale and a specialist in Islamic studies, who is involved in a major European project regarding translations of the Holy Quran into Western and European languages, along with Professor Dr. Augusto Guarino, Vice President of the University of Naples L'Orientale for International Relations. The delegation also visited the University of Udine, which is among the oldest and most prestigious universities in Italy, recognized for its academic excellence and high ranking in (Shanghai, QS, and Times rankings). 

During this visit, the university held a roundtable meeting to discuss future strategies and policies aimed at meeting its academic requirements. The meeting included an overview of our academic departments, faculty members, and students. The meeting was chaired by Giorgio Alberti, the Vice President for International Relations. It was agreed to propose the establishment of postgraduate programs in our university in the fields of management, economics, and marketing, in accordance with the necessary requirements for this purpose.
