Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of Al-Mamoun University College, Professor Dr. Abdul Karim Hussein Ismail, and in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Health, the Continuing Education and Scientific Development Division held a scientific symposium entitled "The Risks Caused by the Drug Abuse Phenomenon and the Necessary Measures to Reduce Them in Educational Institutions.". The symposium featured lectures by Dr. Adnan Yaseen Mohammed, Dr. Jinan Bahjat, and Dr. Kulzar Mustafa Ali and was attended by several faculty members of the college.

In his remarks, the esteemed Dean emphasized that addressing the issue of drug abuse is a responsibility that falls upon all sectors of society without exception. He highlighted that the educational system, with universities at the forefront, plays a pivotal role in combating drug abuse. As one of the key educational institutions, universities can implement measures and develop programs that help protect young people from the dangers of drug use and addiction.
