A scientific symposium entitled 'Bologna Process and Its Importance in Improving Higher Education Systems' was held on September 17, 2024, under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of Al-Mamoun University College, Professor Dr. Abdul Karim Hussein Ismail. The symposium was chaired by Dr. Ahmed Ali Radhi, Technical Support Officer for the Bologna Track.

Professor Dr. Ismail explained that the Bologna Process is an international governmental cooperation between 48 European and Arab countries in higher education. It involves the collaborative efforts of governmental bodies, universities, professors, students, associations, stakeholders, employers, quality assurance agencies, international organizations, and institutions, including the European Commission, to enhance and sustain higher education.

He highlighted the main objectives of the project as follows:

1. Transition to a three-tier educational system (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate).

2. Enhancement of quality control.

3. Facilitation of recognition of study periods and qualifications.
