Under the patronage of His Excellency, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, a conference was held to launch the electronic university ID. Attendees included the head of the parliamentary Higher Education Committee, a number of high-ranking officials from the ministry, presidents of public and private universities including Al-Mamoun University, the head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, and a number of students.
In his address, His Excellency the Minister stated that the Ministry had developed a comprehensive strategic plan for digitalization, which encompasses the implementation of more than 120 electronic systems in all sectors, including student services, resources management, academia, and information access, terminating with the smart university ID. This ID constitutes a significant milestone on the road toward digital governance and intelligent institutional transformation.
Represented by its President, Dr. Samir Dawood Salman, and several students, Al-Mamoun University actively participated in the conference. These students were among the first cohort to receive their electronic higher education IDs, signifying the university's endorsement of the digital transformation project and its active involvement in the Ministry's development programs. Along with its effects to streamline administrative and academic services, interactive presentations describing the digital transformation environment of the Ministry were shown at the conference, together with live demonstrations of the usage mechanisms of the digital university ID.
