Under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in cooperation with the Popular Relief Organization, Al-Mamoun Private University participated in a dialogue session organized by the High Commission for Human Rights/National Office. Held under the slogan "The Addict is a Patient... Not an Accused", the event marked the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The university was represented by the Director of the Human Rights Division, Assistant Lecturer Sarab Hamid. In her speech, she emphasized the essential role that universities play in disseminating preventive awareness and protecting youth against the scourge of drugs. Hamid also emphasized Al-Mamoun University's commitment to adopt educational programs and activities in this area.
Awareness lectures, audiovisuals, and contributions from representatives of government institutions and civil societies characterized the event, which was ended with recommendations on how to enhance community and legislative coordination in confronting this dangerous phenomenon.
