Academic Integrity Policy

12

Al-Mamoun University is committed to integrity in teaching, research, and assessment. Academic honesty is a shared responsibility of students, academic staff, researchers, and employees.

Core principles

  • Submit original work and attribute ideas, text, and data accurately.
  • Report results and data honestly, without fabrication, falsification, or deliberate omission.
  • Identify authors' contributions and disclose relevant conflicts of interest and sources of support.
  • Obtain required ethical or institutional approval before collecting data or conducting research.
  • Respect confidentiality, participants' rights, and intellectual property.

Unacceptable practices

Misconduct includes plagiarism, cheating, purchasing assignments or research, unauthorised collaboration, fabrication or falsification of data, false authorship, and submitting the same work to more than one course or body without permission.

Use of artificial intelligence

Artificial-intelligence tools may be used only in accordance with the instructions of the course, research project, or publisher. Material use must be disclosed where required, and outputs and sources must be checked. Full academic and ethical responsibility remains with the person submitting the work; a tool is neither an author nor a substitute source.

Handling concerns

Suspected misconduct is referred to the competent academic or administrative body and considered under applicable regulations. Confidentiality, a fair opportunity to respond, and available review or appeal procedures are respected. Any action should be proportionate to the nature, repetition, and effect of the breach.

Reporting and enquiries

Documented concerns may be submitted to the relevant department or college, or to [email protected]. A report should provide a clear description and available evidence, and allegations should not be published openly.
