Al-Mamoun University Holds Seminar on the Risks of Irregular Migration and Strengthening National Belonging

Al-Mamoun University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Migration and Displaced (MoMD), held an academic seminar titled “The Risks of Irregular Migration and Strengthening a Sense of National Belonging” on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The event took place under the auspices of University President Abdulrahman Hameed Majeed. Professor Raad Tuama Awad, assistant president for administrative affairs, attended, and a number of faculty, staff, and students took part.

The seminar examined the risks and consequences of irregular migration and the humanitarian, social, and economic challenges and dangers it can pose for young people. It also highlighted the importance of raising community awareness, reinforcing the values of citizenship and national belonging, and encouraging young people to help build Iraq’s future.

The seminar is in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is also part of Al-Mamoun University’s efforts to raise cultural and social awareness and strengthen its role in addressing issues that affect young people’s present and future.
