
Professor Dr. Abdul-Karim Hussein Ismail, Dean of Al-Mamoun University College, met Dr. Nather Jasim Al-Obaidi, Iraq’s Cultural Attaché to the Russian Federation, along with an academic delegation from Belgorod State National Research University. The delegation included Dr. Natalia Yuryevna, Vice-Chancellor for International Relations at Belgorod State University, and Dr. Maria Anatolyevna, a Russian language instructor.
The visit aimed to strengthen academic ties between Al-Mamoon University College and its Russian counterparts—most notably, Belgorod University—and to explore new avenues for academic and research collaboration. During this visit, the Russian Language Institute was officially inaugurated at Al-Mamoun University College. The institute is scheduled to commence its lecture schedule this week, offering Russian language courses designed to deepen understanding of Russian culture and highlight academic programs available at Russian universities, particularly Belgorod State University.
Additionally, discussions during the visit focused on the development of academic exchange programs and joint research partnerships. These talks also emphasized the pivotal role played by Al-Mamoun University College in bridging connections between Iraqi educational institutions and prestigious international universities. Such efforts are expected to positively impact the development of academic and research competencies, thereby contributing to the advancement of higher education in Iraq.
