On Tuesday and Wednesday, January 7-8, 2025, Al-Mamoun University College, through its Training and Employment Unit, hosted the 13th round of the second edition of the Iraqi University Debating Championship. This championship is organized by the International Academy for Leadership and Development (IALD) in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Directorate of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up.

along with several deans and department heads representing participating universities, and Dr. Muath Salem Abdul Rahman, President of the IALD, the event was attended by Professor Dr. Abdul Kareem Hussein Ismail, Dean of Al-Mamoun University College. This round featured participation from six universities in Baghdad Governorate: the University of Baghdad, Al-Mamoun University College, Gilgamesh University, Dijlah University, Al-Bayan University, and Al-Nisour University.

Reflecting a spirit of constructive dialogue and scientific thinking, the competition was characterized by a competitive and creative atmosphere. After a distinguished performance, the University of Baghdad qualified for the next stage, demonstrating its team's high-level debating and critical thinking skills, bringing them one step closer to winning the championship.
