About this facility
The Life Sciences department of the College of Science has two laboratories of its own: a biotechnology laboratory and a botany laboratory. They host the practical sessions that accompany the courses, and the workshops that second and third year students attend under the supervision of the department's teaching staff.
Work carried out in them has included a workshop on preserving plant and animal specimens and germinating plant seeds under differing treatments, held with the laboratory management department and attended by a committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Its role
The department's two laboratories are where a lesson moves from the text to the specimen: preparation, germination and examination are all learned by doing.
